Requirements
- Please ensure you have a valid and signed provisional/full licence with you on your first lesson (counterpart and photo ID or valid photo ID i.e. passport).
- You must be able (with glasses or contact lenses if applicable) to read a number plate to comply with the Driving Standards Agency eyesight requirements for your practical test. The distance requirement for the old-style number plate is 20.5 metres. The distance requirement for the eyesight test with the new-style number plate is 20 metres. New style number plates were introduced on 1 September, 2001 and are easily identifiable because they start with two letters i.e. AB51 ABC.
- Please inform us of any medication you may be taking or disability, which may affect your ability to drive, we will be happy to advise you accordingly in line with DVLA requirements.
- You will be asked to sign a declaration validating the above requirements on your first lesson.
- It is advisable to pass your theory test before booking your intensive course, as it is not possible to book a practical test without a Theory Test Certificate number.
- Please contact the Driving Standards Agency for Driving Instructor training requirements and a starter pack ADI 14 before commencing your course.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel a lesson this must be done giving at least 48 hours notice otherwise you will be charged the full lesson price. Contact details are given on this website, please ensure you always have at least one contact number to hand in emergencies. With regard to intensive courses 7 days notice is needed to cancel, deposits are non refundable if less than 7 days notice is given.
Loss, Damage and Responsibility
“Intensive Driving Solutions” cannot be held responsible for any loss/damage to personal possessions whilst taking lessons or on a driving test, postponement of lessons due to illness by the instructor or mechanical breakdown, nor for driving test postponement by the Department of Transport (compensation would need to be claimed back via the DSA). “Intensive Driving Solutions” reserves the right to withdraw a car from test, without notice, should a pupil not be up to test standard.
Complaint Procedure
If you have any problems, worries or complaints please in the first instance speak to “Intensive Driving Solutions” and we will do our best to assist you. If however, you wish to take your complaint further, please contact the Driving Standards Agency who is our governing body.
Payment
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or debit/credit card. We require a deposit of 50% on booking with full payment 7 working days before starting the course. Please note if you are paying by cheque we will need the required clearance time, payment therefore will need to be made in advance of your course/lesson(s). Debit and credit card payments can be taken instantly over the telephone or in car on your lesson. A practical test will only be booked once payment has been made in advance.
